To apply for and book your driving test in Ireland, you must first apply for a driving test and then wait for an invitation to book an appointment. This process is managed through the MyRoadSafety.ie customer portal. After logging in, you should set your licence goal (e.g., car or motorbike) and then proceed to the ‘Driving test’ step to apply for a test. If there are no suitable dates at your chosen test centre, you can try another centre or request to be placed on the waiting list. When new slots become available, you will receive an email invitation to book a test.
Alternatively, you can apply by post by downloading a driving test application form and posting it, along with the correct fee, to the address listed in the form.
To book a test, you must wait to receive your email invitation. Once you receive your booking invitation, you need to log in to MyRoadSafety.ie to select your test appointment. You have 10 days to select an appointment before the booking invitation expires. If you’re not ready to sit your test, you can hold off booking and add yourself to the invitation queue at a later time.
